2025 Summer Arts Workshop Programs
Summer Arts Workshop offers all students a positive and creative space to grow and explore. We have a range of options for students based on age and area of interest, which are described below.
As a non-profit, mission-driven organization, our goal is to foster community engagement with the arts and the outdoors. Our youth arts education programs are central to this work. To ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation, we offer a year-round Scholarship Program. Theater Arts Workshop
Hands-on and enriching, this outdoor summer program includes daily classes in acting, improvisation, dance, and visual art. It’s two weeks of pure fun, where students are free to explore their imaginations, build communication skills, and explore nature. Our professional staff of artists and educators creates a supportive and non-competitive environment that fosters both personal and artistic growth. Share Day, the culminating performance will be held at 1 pm on the final day of the program.
Age Range: 6-12
Duration: 2 Weeks
Dates: Session One: June 30 - July 11*; Session Two July 14 - 25; Session Three: July 28 -August 8; Session Four: August 11 - 22
*We will be meeting on July 4th and 5th
Daily Schedule: 9 am – 2 pm
Tuition: $625
Performance Class
This class is designed for students interested in more of a performance challenge. They will have the opportunity to hone their acting skills and explore character and script development. Students' passions will lead the way as they work together with teaching artists to create, develop, and rehearse an original production.
PERFORMANCE CLASS:
Age Range: 9-12
Duration: 4 Weeks
Dates: July 14 - August 8
Daily Schedule: 9 am – 2 pm
Tuition: $1,250
Final Performance: Saturday, August 9th at 11 am
Teen Intensive
In this teen intensive, students will dive further into the building blocks of performance, from Shakespeare to creating original content. They will have the opportunity to work with professional artists to build skills that they can continue to refine with TITO and beyond.
TEEN INTENSIVE:
Age Range: 13-16
Duration: 2 Weeks
Dates: August 11 - 22
Daily Schedule: 9 am – 2 pm
Tuition: $625
ArtsEd
This program is designed for students who have a passion for arts education and working with children. ArtsEd students will learn how art, dance, and theater can be used to facilitate creative expression and communication, and how to create a learning environment that allows children to collaborate and thrive. This program includes time spent each day with workshop students, and time spent each week discussing pedagogy with head teachers and program directors. To ensure a rewarding learning experience, ArtsEd has a limited enrollment and applicants will be selected by the Workshop Leadership team. Many ArtsEd students go on to become CITs in our Summer Arts Workshop!

For teen students who are more interested in performance than education, please consider our new Teen Intensive program!
STUDENTS UNDER 6-YEARS-OLD
Students under age 6 at the time of programming will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If a student has not yet completed Kindergarten or equivalent schooling at the time of program commencement, Summer Arts workshop may not be the right fit. Please contact info@theaterintheopen.org with any questions regarding students under age 6 before registering.
SCHOLARSHIPS

Change/Cancellation Policy
When space is available, we are happy to make changes to session dates at any time, with no additional cost.
In the event you need to cancel your session, $75 of this order is non-refundable. Apart from that, our cancellation policy is as follows:
• One Month Prior to Session Start Date: Full Refund, Less $75
• Two-Weeks Prior to Session Start Date: 50% Tuition Refund
• One Week Prior to Session Start Date: No Refunds Available
