School residencies

Theater in the Open has been in residence at a handful of schools across the North Shore, providing the opportunity for your students to have a drama club in their own space. We work with the classroom teachers to design the experience that best suits the needs of the students and the school, and can offer semester-long educational and team-building experiences around creating art together.

Age range: Elementary and Middle School level residencies are available.

To begin the process of setting up a residency, email Mara Flynn, Director of Education, at mara@theaterintheopen.org.

Tour Opportunities

Our Summer and Fall productions are often classic works of literature, including Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Ovid, and more. These productions are built to be portable and can include workshops on the material as well as on the creative process. We believe in putting students front and center in the work of these tours—we are happy to provide low-stress performance opportunities for students along with our performance. We have previously brought productions to Colby College in Waterville, Maine.

Age range: Depending on the production, touring opportunities would be best for Middle, High School, and University students.
