ANDREW CODISPOTI AS JOHN PROCTOR

ANDREW CODISPOTI is a theatre maker rooted in southwest New Hampshire. Instigator-curator of Vicious Mole Theatre Collective, founding member of The Shakespeare Ensemble, and long-term company member of Seven Stages Shakespeare Company, Advice to the Players, and The Barnstormers Theatre.

Andrew makes their Theater in the Open and Firehouse Center for the Arts debuts with The Crucible.


 

Ariana Karp as Elizabeth Proctor

ARIANA KARP is an actor, director, cellist, and educator based in Maine. She is currently teaching acting technique at Colby College and is the Artistic Director of International Shakespeare Center Santa Fe. Some previous credits include Pericles (Thaisa, Diana) at 7 Stages Shakespeare Company, Coriolanus (Aufidius), Measure for Measure (Duke Vincentio), King Lear (Regan). Training: Masters in Classical Acting from LAMDA, BA in Literature-Theatre from Reed College. www.arianakarp.com

Morgan amelia fanning as abigail williams

MORGAN AMELIA FANNING is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with this ensemble of artists. After finishing up The Game of Love and Chance, where she played Harlequin just a few weeks ago, Morgan is excited to be hopping right into her next TITO project. Other recent credits include Pericles (7 Stages Shakespeare Co.), The Tempest (Fenix Theatre Co.), and You Got Older (Mad Horse Theatre Co.). Morgan is a Chicagoland native and attended Luther College where they graduated with a BA in Theatre and Music.

Previous Theater in the Open credits include The Game of Love and Chance (2022). They make their Firehouse Center for the Arts debut.


PAUL-EMILE Cendron as reverend parris

PAUL-EMILE CENDRON is an actor and filmmaker living in New York City and couldn't be happier to be doing theater with TITO again. Theater credits include Skintight (Roundabout Theater Company) Mary Stuart (Folger Theater), Red (Hangar Theater), The Bear (Moscow Art Theater) and Lafayette​ (59E 59 Theaters). Film and TV credits include THE JUDGE (Warner Brothers), I LOVE YOU BUT I LIED (Lifetime), and LAW & ORDER (NBC).

Previous Theater in the Open credits include Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (2004), Peter Pan (2005), Romeo and Juliet (2006), Waiting for Godot (2005), The Tempest (2009), and Maudslay is Haunted (various). He makes his Firehouse Center for the Arts debut.


 

DYLAN C. WACK AS REVEREND JOHN HALE

DYLAN C. WACK is thrilled to be returning to Theater in the Open as an actor. He has performed with the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, New Repertory Theatre, Fresh Ink Theatre, and Sparkhaven Theatre, among others. He holds a BFA from Boston University and a Certificate in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. DEVYN ITULA As tituba

DEVYN ITULA is ecstatic to be joining the cast of The Crucible. Devyn is a recent graduate of Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA receiving a B.A. in Theatre & English. She just got back to the United States after studying with the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University. Her recent credits include Olga in Three Sisters, Orlando in As You Like It, and Magenta in Rocky Horror. Though she is primarily an actor, Devyn also considers herself a director, production, & stage manager. When not consumed by the beauty of theatre, Devyn can be found reading any post-apocalyptic or fantasy YA novel, baking, or traveling to some new destination!

Julia Jemsek as mary warren

JULIA JEMSEK is beyond thrilled to be exploring the story of The Crucible alongside such an incredible cast. Originally from Western Mass, Julia recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Theatre: Acting/Directing. Recent Credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena/Starveling), Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice), and Hecuba (Polyxena). They are currently dwelling in Portsmouth and can not wait to be making their TITO debut.

Allegra Dubus-Brandolini as Mercy Lewis

ALLEGRA DUBUS-BRANDOLINI is thrilled to be joining the cast of The Crucible. Recent credits include Waiting for Godot (Firehouse Center for the Arts), Emotional Creature (Firehouse Center for the Arts), The Little Mermaid (Firehouse Center for the Arts), and School of Rock the Musical (Ogunquit Playhouse). She has performed in countless productions at Sarah Lawrence College such as Head over Heels the Musical and Twelfth Night. She trained at the British American Drama Academy in London and recently graduated with a BA in Theater and Creative Writing at Sarah Lawrence College.

Previous Theater in the Open credits include The Game of Love and Chance (2022), Metamorphoses (2021), Julius Caesar (2018), Medea (2018), and Antigone (2017), among many others.


Jamie Steinbach as Ann Putnam

JAMIE STEINBACH is thrilled to be making her TITO debut! Selected previous credits: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania/Hippolyta) with Seven Stages Shakespeare Company, A Christmas Carol (Fred, Belle, Mrs. Cratchit) at the Player's Ring, Everybody (Everybody), Three Sisters (Chebutykin) both at Suffolk University. Training: The Williamstown Theatre Festival (Apprentice Program), Suffolk University (B.A. Theatre Performance 2019). When she's not performing, Jamie works is an apprentice chocolatier at La Cascade du Chocolat, and spends her free time bullet journaling, reading, writing, and annotating scripts for fun.

Joel Iwaskiewicz as Thomas putnam

A New Hampshire native, JOEL IWASKIEWICZ has performed with community and professional theatres across the state and beyond, including Vicious Mole Theatre Collective, Powerhouse Theater Collaborative, New Hampshire Theatre Project, Voices of Hope, and the Brooklyn-based Rude Grooms. He appears regularly in Portsmouth, NH, with Seven Stages Shakespeare Company. Offstage, Joel teaches English and directs the drama program at Exeter High School in Exeter, NH.

Joel makes his Theater in the Open and Firehouse Center for the Arts debuts with The Crucible.


DON ROBERTS AS GILES COREY

DON ROBERTS is a Retired Episcopal Priest and Air Force National Guard Chaplain Colonel. He has been been actively involved with community theater since High School. Favorite role - Fagan in Oliver. Thanks to my wife, Marylyn .

Previous Theater in the Open credits include the Magistrate in the Elizabeth Morse Witch Trial scene in Maudslay is Haunted. He makes his Firehouse Center for the Arts debut with The Crucible.


Norm Degerre as Deputy Governor Danforth

NORM DEGERRE was previously an assistant professor of acting at a small Pennsylvania college. He has performed with San Francisco's New Shakespeare Company and the Oregon Shakespearean Festival. He has worked on tv and in theatres around the country, at times with his wife, singer/actress LaDonna Mobley.

NADIA TOTH as Betty Parris

NADIA TOTH has enjoyed working with Theater in the Open and The Firehouse both onstage and as a volunteer. Her favorite roles include Iris (Still Life With Iris) and Sam (10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse). When she is not on stage, Nadia is busy at school where she enjoys writing poetry and volunteering with the MSPCA. She wants to give many thanks to her family, friends, teachers, Leonardo DiCaprio, and her mentors.

Previous Theater in the Open credits include Poe (2017, 2018, 2019) and A Nutcracker Panto! (2021)


SOPHIA TODD AS SUSANNA WALCOTT

SOPHIA TODD is excited to be a part of this production of The Crucible, and to work alongside this incredible cast. She has been involved with Theater in the Open both onstage and as a volunteer, and is thrilled to have this opportunity. Sophia is currently in high school, and can be found playing the violin, reading, or kicking butt in karate.

Previous Theater in the Open credits include A Nutcracker Panto! (2021), and Maudslay is Haunted. She makes her Firehouse Center for the Arts debut with The Crucible.


Meet the Creative Team of THE CRUCIBLE

 

Edward F. speck, DIrector

EDWARD F. SPECK has a long history with Theater in the Open, having been a company member for 12 years before taking on the role of Artistic Director in 2009. His first show with Theater in the Open was 1997’s Much Ado About Nothing directed by Bonniejean Wilbur. Previous credits with Theater in the Open include Medea (Jason), The Tempest (Caliban), Antigone (Creon) and lots and lots of clowns over a decade of Pantos. He has recently been seen in Pericles with 7 Stages Shakespeare and Waiting for Godot at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. An Amesbury native, Edward now lives in Newburyport as artist in residence at the Maudslay Gatekeeper’s House, which allows Teddy and his wife to raise their young daughters on the edge of these magical woods.

Previous Theater in the Open credits as director include A Christmas Carol Panto! (2021), Adventures in Zoomland Panto! (2020), and A Peter Pan Panto! (2019), among many other Spring and Winter Pantos.

Dan beaulieu, Artistic consultant

DAN BEAULIEU is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Seven Stages Shakespeare Company, as well as a member of the international Shakespeare Ensemble, a former ambassador for the Shakespeare Society, & a proud member of the Shakespeare Theater Association. He has played Lincoln Center, Besho-Onsen, and his backyard. Upcoming: the world premier of his original play The Shakespeare Carol on Church Island in Wales.

Dan makes his Theater in the Open debut with The Crucible. Previous Firehouse Center for the Arts credits include directing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (2020, cancelled due to the pandemic).
